Going In A New Direction/Carcharodons Part 1

So as many of you all ready know because I’m sure, if not many, a least one of your blogs in your blog roll. Had the leaked pic of the Stormraven gunship. After seeing that there are leaked pics of that, I put on my headband and karate belt and did some Google-fu to try and find out all I could about the Space Sarks and where they are going in Imperial Armour 10.

Upon my Search I first found the picture above^^. First thing I noticed was that the red stripe down the middle was gone, the inside of the shoulder pads were some kind of dark blue, and that the chapter badge had changed. Hmm interesting. I Google-fu’d a little harder and found this picture.

Now Upon enlarging the picture enough to where I could try and read it without it being way to blurry I think it says this.

CARCHARODONS
Chapter Name: The Carcharodons
Founding: Unknown
Chapter World/Deployment: Unknown [Relieved ‘Komad-(can’t make out)’
Fleet Organization, (can’t make out) (can’t make out)
Fortress Monastery: Unknown
Gene-seed (predecessor): Unknown [Some (can’t make out) Gene-seed (can’t make out) (can’t make out) to the Raven Guard.
Known Descendants: None
Sources Unreliable(?): ‘Carcharodons’, Carcharodons Astra’ and various Low Gothic delusions(?) of the name are used both in historical records and Badab War Accounts.
“...we...surrender...By the Mercy of the God-Emperor...the war is over...we have surrendered...”
Final Vox-Intercept, Void Colony Sigard XII

Of all the Space Marine Chapters involved in the Badab War, the Carcharodons remain the most enigmatic and mysterious, having forged for themselves a dark and bloody legend in the minds of those that survived the conflict thats has continued into its aftermath. The Chapter returned from the black void beyond the imperium’s border as strangers to friend and foe alike, siding with the loyalist cause against those they saw as traitors to the divine Emperor. In some ways the...

the pages of the Mythos Angelica Mortis written by the savarn-scribes of the Secretariat Militum(?) of Terra In late M36, and largely complied from the earlier sources. In this often vague and incomplete work, reference are made to a Space Marine Chapter it calls the “Carcharodon Astra” being despatched into the “Outer Darkness...upon an endless voyage...to ravage the foes of mankind...” and to “...set about the traitor, the alien, and the renegade without mercy, and harrow them in thier places of strength.” This text it...

borders on an endless voyage, their goal to seek, locate and destroy the enemies of mankind. All factors which tally with the Carcharodons Chapter and their actions in the Badab War.
Tactically, during the Badab conflict the Carcharodons operated almost exclusively as a rapid-strike-force, destaining any kind of protracted engagment wherever possible, preferring to approach their targets either with extreme speed or by stealth, allowing them to strike with the element of surprise on their side whatever...

So from what it looks like. The Space Sharks are definitely getting a name change in IA10 and paint scheme change. It seems like they might be descendants of the Raven Guard or at least have similarities to them. With the name change it seems like they are explaining that by saying that they are given many Low Gothic names. So can therefore still be called the Space sharks if you like. I like both names But am going to go with the Carcharodons. Th little bit of fluff I was able to read seems pretty cool wish whoever took this picture had a picture of the bottom of the page too lol.

Well now I was really excited so even deeper I delved into my Google-fu and found some pictures of actual models painted in the new Space Shark colors.

The only problem being is that the first one is a bit blurry and the second one has an Eldar titan in the way (:P). Go figure, right? But at least from these two pictures I can some what make out the new color scheme. Looks like they are still grey, but instead of with the red stripe. The bottom of the helmet it white (kind of like the under-side of a great white shark). The chapter symbol seems to be a white shark on a dark blue/black background. It seems like the Sergeants Shoulder pads or outlined in gold/bronze while regular marines are grey. And it also seems like they might have weapons with fins on them. Which makes me believe that this..

is a space shark model. But only time will tell.

Well yea so it looks like I really won’t be painting anything until IA10 comes out (:/). But I am going to order some of the Forge world heresy helmets. Because that look amazing. If anybody hase a clear picture, or knows where I can find a clear picture of the Space Shark models behind the Eldar titan, please let me know. Later days!

The End Of The Fins

Hello everyone Mighty here again. Well after all my hard work yesterday and cutting up a piece of plastic card into a bunch of little fin pieces. I have decided that I am not going to go with a fin on the helmets. I just couldn’t get it to look the way I had it in my head and it came out looking silly. Well such is life lol. I encourage others though who thought it was a good idea to try it because you never know you might make it look good. Unfortunately I did not but I will find some other way of getting my Space Sharks to look Jawsome haha. Well follow me on Blood of Kittens Network, and until next update. Later days!

The Blood of Kittens Network

Hey everyone Mighty here again. I think it is really cool when people do stuff for the 40k blogging community (as Silar did with the Badab War Project). And Blood of Kitttens has made his website into a cool social network type of thing. That is definitely worth checking out. So go over there and make an account lol! I am also thinking about transferring my blog over to it too. Hmm we shall see (I feel like I have been saying that a lot lately lol). So if you guys join be sure to follow Me. Later Days!

Space Shark”s Part 3: The Models (Update)

Have gotten to work on the fins for the helmets. The blue fin is the “Master fin” that I use to make all the other fins. I like the look but I might make a new master fin that is a little smaller because right there it looks about the right size but when I put it on top of the helmet it looks a little to big for me. Hmm well we will see I might make a few more “Master fins” and then take a picture and have a poll on what you all think is the best one. Welll until the next update, later days.

Space Shark’s Part 3: The Models (Stage 1)

Hey guys I have small chunk of my army bought. Using my 2000pt. list as a buying guide I so far have my captain, two dreads (minus the tl-autocannons), half of a bike squad, my tactical squad, my rhino, two land speeders, and two preds. Now that I think about it, that is a pretty good chunk of my army lol. I still need two more Ravenwing battleforces, one more dread, one more predator, and then get the autocannons for my dreads. I am hoping to have the rest of my models by next Saturday, but I’m also saving for a car so we shall see.

I wanted to wait until Imperial Armour 10 came out before I started doing any painting but I’m itching to start soon. At least I have a lot of modeling things I want to do to the army which should kep me occupied for a while. Still  have to find out how I am going to make my shark fins out of the plasticard.  If anybody has any ideas on how to do that please let me know.

Basing wise I have a few ideas one of them being to base them like if they were having a battle on the beach. I think that would look really cool. Has anybody seen this done before? Or at least can someone point me in the direction of where I could go to see how to do it? I haven’t found anything yet but maybe my google-fu is lacking.

Allright well that’s all I have so far, hopefully can get some updated pics up soon until then. Later days
